How It All Started
TDS Miami is a family-owned and operated by Enrique Gonzalez. The Puerto Rican-born Miami resident isn’t one to follow trends, and his business and the work that it produces reflects just that. He and his son Jesus run the business, one that has grown incredibly fast and after many years of experience in the diesel performance industry, many consider them the #1 Turbo Diesel High-Performance Shop in Miami and all of South Florida. Enrique doesn’t like doing things the way everyone else does them; he likes doing things the way no one does and in the early 2000s, he decided to take a leap of faith and opened The Diesel Shop – TDS Miami. With experience, hard work, a supportive family, and a taste for the unusual, he has risen above the competition.
Experience, hard work and a taste for the unusual, is what makes Enrique stand out from all others and has made The Diesel Shop rise above the competition.
“I want to be different. I want something that nobody else has,” Enrique says of his tastes. Different he is. To match his friendly personality and passion for diesel performance is his masterpiece build, the D-max Colorado. Enrique wanted a shop truck to represent what The Diesel Shop was all about. The answer: a diesel-powered mid-size truck that could be daily driven, but could also be raced and showed—a triple threat. Most importantly, it is like nothing anybody else has. “I brought a wrecked Silverado and salvaged the 6.6 L Duramax and Allison transmission,” he says of how the build got started. “And I knew I wanted to put it in a Colorado” and just like that the adventure of the TDS Racing Team begun. His D-max Colorado has participated in multiple races all over the United States and has been featured in several magazines throughout the years.
